The Black Dress pays tribute to the quintessential wardrobe piece (The Black Dress)

To say I was be-dazzled last Wednesday night at The Black Dress event is an understatement!

Presented by Boutique Series, and idea from the mind of local IT guy and DJ Filip (with a F) Odzak, I was impressed from the moment I entered the elegant and majestic Mercedes Benz show room floor, which set the perfect back drop for this glamorous runway event.

I am by no means a fashionista and in no way do I claim to be, but it didn’t take me long to get caught up in all the excitement and buzz on the night, as Adelaide’s fashion elite, celebrities and bloggers, paraded, took selfies and drank champagne! “I could get use to this” it was so much fun.

After a couple of champagnes and pictures with guests, it was time to take my seat. I was ready for the parade. Showcasing an array of renowned local and national designers, the theme for which, being their take on the iconic “Black Dress”.  Hosts for the night were Adelady gals Hayley Pearson and Lauren DeCasere who were delightfully fun and entertaining.

From the get go, I loved the Parade.   The show was bold, dramatic and elegant, and hats off  to Zinc hair for their creations, I adored the Egyptian goddess like look they created. It was spot on. Along with the black flower neck pieces worn by each of the Finesse models, just gorgeous. Stylist Cimin Vozzo created a really striking look here which was very impressive.

All the dresses were amazing, but some that stood out to me were a halter neck piece by Cmeo Collective; a pretty chic number by Adelaide favourite Liza Emanuele,  and I cannot forget Cue.  I loved the metallic line skirt with a tunic look black top, so cool!! oh and note to self, the Nanna Judy Jumpsuit, I have to get one.

Last but not least, the absolute stand outs for me were a lace dress by Jaimie Sortino, which was simply breathtaking, and an impressive sequined number by Zhivago, which had jaws dropping.

So…all in all, it was a spectacular night.  If you like getting dressed up to the nines, and having a great night out, be sure to check out the next Boutique Series event, I certainly will be.
