Daniel Avakian presented his Resort 2016/17 collection in The Theatre at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia on Wednesday 18th May, 2016 at 12 noon.
Influenced by fashion and technology, the collection pays homage to Daniel’s youth, a decade where music and supermodels reigned supreme.
In his signature monochromatic palette, the collection was highlighted by this seasons key hues of saffron and pink. Feminine silk gowns, liquid lame slips and chiffon robes billowed down the runway, whist boxer robes over wide crepe trousers brought a masculine edge. Bang and Olufsen’s game changing B&O play, a new generation of portable speakers and state of the art headphones, completed the looks.
Jeweller, Natalie Marie collaborated with Daniel to create a capsule collection of understated yet modern pieces for the runway – geometric double hoops, hand cuffs and hair pins that doubled up as brooches.
Front row guests included: Edwina McCann, Christine Centenera, Alison Veness-McGourty, Carmen Hamilton, Sara Donaldson, Lee Oliveira, Kaitlyn Ham, Nikki Phillips & Anna Heinrich.
A special thanks to Daniel Avakian show sponsors:
Goldwell, Lancôme, MYER, B&O Play, Natalie Marie, Mon Purse & Faby.
