SYDNEY (May 12, 2016) IMG today announced the international buyers and media heading to Sydney for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, taking place 15 – 20th May, 2016. Buyers, journalists and photographers from the world’s most influential retailers and publications are set to attend.
Key representatives include Bergdorf Goodman (US), Brandalley (FRA), Club21 (SGP), Harvey Nichols (UK), House of Fraser (UK), Isetan (SGP), Lane Crawford (CHN), Les Galeries Lafayette (CHN),MATCHESFASHION.COM (UK), Moda Operandi (US), Net-a-Porter (UK), Selfridges (UK), Shopbop (US), and TANGS (SGP).
“This is an exciting year for Australian designers with the opportunity to showcase their collections to a global audience and be a part of history in the making, while taking advantage of the buyers and media from around the world who have flown in to MBFWA,” said Natalie Kingham, Buying Director at MATCHESFASHION.COM. “I’m looking forward to a great Fashion Week, and I know the rest of the industry is watching too.”
A variety of media from around the world will also be in attendance, including VOGUE (US), ELLE (US), New York Magazine’s The Cut, Dazed and Confused (UK), Grazia China, Fashionista (US) and Refinery29 (US).
Lee Oliviera will be photographing fashion both on and off the runway for The New York Times, while Aussie expat, stylist Catherine Baba will return home to attend the event for the first time. Paola Alberdi, contributor to Vogue Mexico and Creative Director of Blank Itinerary, is heading to Sydney along with street style photographers Adam Katz Sinding (Le21ème & W Mag), Diego Zuko (Harper’s BAZAAR US), Mark Hunter (Cobrasnake), Sandra Semburg (A love is Bling & Vogue Paris) and Youngjun Koo (NY Mag’s The Cut & W Korea).
