TAB Adelaide Cup Day Set to Come Alive with New Starting Gate Precinct

The most iconic day on the South Australian racing calendar, the TAB Adelaide Cup Day returns to Morphettville Racecourse on Monday, March 11. The 2019 event promises to be brimming with action, on and off the track, with the highly anticipated return of the Starting Gate.

With a lively festival atmosphere, the Starting Gate offers an explosive trackside playground with all-day music from some of Australia’s biggest deejays including headliners Touch Sensitive, DJ Horizon, Dancespace and BORNA.

“We’ve seen an increase in younger attendees at Morphettville Racecourse on TAB Adelaide Cup Day in recent years and have tailored the Starting Gate package to this vibrant audience,” says Morphettville Racecourse Marketing Manager, Luke Schapel.

“With world-class deejays and plenty of Instagram opportunities, we know that racegoers will be impressed by the fresh look of Morphettville Racecourse at the Starting Gate.”

Foodies will be excited with the Starting Gate food partner with renowned local Italian food gods, Pizzateca, who will be serving up wood fired pizzas for the hungry crowds, amongst a range of other gourmet food options. Other TAB Adelaide Cup Day essentials also feature in the Starting Gate precinct, including a Nailbreak and beauty station pop- up, a spritz and espresso martini bar and a Spendless Shoes station.

Returning to the Starting Gate this year is the iconic Ferris Wheel, offering views over Morphettville Racecourse in all its glory and allowing punters the chance to take in the ambience of what will be one of Morphettville’s biggest party’s ever.

After its highly successful Spring Carnival debut, the AAMI VIP Marquee created by White Marquee will return to the Starting Gate precinct, offering the perfect option for those looking for the best of both worlds in an exclusive atmosphere. Tickets to the AAMI VIP Marquee include a three-hour food and beverage package and a private bar and seating area.

Fashionistas will have the chance to take part in this year’s Fashions on the Field competition, presented by Mumm and Australian Fashion Labels. The female winner will take home $1,000 in cash and a $1,000 voucher thanks to Australian Fashion Labels and the male winner will win a suit to the value of $700 thanks to Peter Shearer Menswear. Fashions on the Field is open to all attendees on TAB Adelaide Cup Day. 

The Starting Gate is the place to party this TAB Adelaide Cup Day, with endless beverage offerings, bars from Canadian Club and Furphy and a silent disco area. Starting Gate tickets are $39 and include entry, food and a beverage.
