“CLIENT LIAISON” ANNOUNCED AS HEADLINE ACT FOR SANTOS TOUR DOWN UNDER TEAM PRESENTATION FREE CONCERT
A free community concert featuring Australian Indie pop band Client Liaison will herald the start of the City of Adelaide Tour Village celebrations in Victoria Square – the centrepiece of the Santos Tour Down Under festivities.
The concert, which is expected to attract thousands of fans, cycling enthusiasts and families alike, will follow the official team presentations on Saturday, January 12.
Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment David Ridgway said the 2019 Santos Tour Down Under was gearing up to be the ‘best one yet’.
“Now in its 21st year, the Santos Tour Down Under is undoubtedly one of the premier events on the South Australian tourism and sporting calendar, attracting more than 800,000 fans – many from interstate and around the world – and injecting $63 million into the state’s visitor economy.
“In 2019, organisers are shifting gears again with new-look stages across the 11-day event, which will not only test our athletes’ resolve along 909 gruelling kilometres but will showcase new parts of our glorious state to spectators and a huge global television audience.
“We are delighted to have Client Liaison perform on the opening night of the Tour Village and look forward to, once again, welcoming the teams and their fans back to South Australia.”
In 2018, the 20th edition of the Santos Tour Down Under injected a record $63.7 million into the South Australian visitor economy, with flow-on economic benefits felt beyond the city into the state’s regional towns. The event attracted almost 810,000 spectators, with more than 46,000 visiting SA specificallyto attend the event. Client Liaison said “As keen cyclists we’re thrilled to don the lycra and be joining the tour down under.
Let the good people of Adelaide know that we’ll be keeping the heart rate pumping well above 120 bpm even after the race stops with our infectious live performance – Harvey Miller
