Adelaide United vs Melbourne City match review

Adelaide United vs Melbourne City

Coopers Stadium

January 12, 2017

Last place Adelaide United had a lot to prove on a very hot Thursday in Adelaide. With Amor heading to public pressure and starting a younger squad his choice of starting players seemed a comical error when Fornaroli put city ahead in the 4th minute. What would have seemed like another potential Adelaide capitulation was on the horizon never eventuated. In the 9th minute Mcgowan connected to an Isias free kick and put the Reds level. From there on United steadied in the first half and weathered a storm of Bruce Kamal initiated attacks, his pace and skill was troubling Garuccio and Co, what Adelaide had lost in his departure to Melbourne City was evident for all to see viagra a vendre montreal. With Socceroo legend Tim Cahill making his Adelaide A-league debut finally, the 10,000 plus supporters were expecting to potentially see some of his magic, however Michael Marrone, finally returning from a serious ACL injury kept the Aussie legend quiet most of the match, but at 37 Cahill still played a full 90minutes of football and proved he still has plenty to offer in his twilight in the A league.

After the break and midway through the second , Amor brought on Carrusca and Guardiola, both players omitted from the line-up, as a wakeup call that Amor is bowing to media criticism and willing to make changes. Kitto appeared to be tiring and like most of the season Adelaide was struggling to finish in front of goal. Late united substitute Ochieng secured the winner with basically his first real touch and put away a nice pass from Guardiola, with the kind of finish you would expect from a player in a bigger lead. Victory was sealed, Adelaide United had secured a gutsy win, only its second of the season.

Adelaide will need to regroup next Friday for surely Sydney at home will really make the Reds aware of where they truly are and what lies ahead for the current playing group. The young players stood up tonight and Amor must repay them by giving them all a starting spot on next week’s crucial away match.
