Sam Simmons, an Australian comedian, radio and TV presenter, has introduced his new show ‘FUNT’ to the final week of the Adelaide Fringe. Not only has Sam performed all over Australia, but he has also won multiple awards, including the 2015 Barry Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Comedy award. From all this hype I was really expecting this guy to be gut wrenchingly funny.
Most of the show revolved around him singing lyrics he had previously made up, to the sound of an upbeat tune, weather that be about crumpets, the future, or any random thing he thought of that day. One part of the show that I found extremely amusing was when he told the story of when his Father’s ‘leg come off’. I do not know why I found it so funny but I was left in hysterics. Apart from this small part of the performance I did not really find anything else about his show interesting, it was a little bit too stupid for me. I think that if you were off your face and like listening to comedians talk about wiping their poo with bread then you would enjoy this show. Other than that I think I may have lost a few brain cells whilst sitting in the audience.
