Dilruk Jayasinha translates into ‘Victorious Lion’ hence the title of his gut wrenchingly funny stand-up comedy show which he is now performing at the Adelaide Fringe for a second year. Does Dilruk really live up to his strong and bold name? Or is he a lost soul like some of us?
You may know Dilruk from performing at the ‘Melbourne Comedy Festival’ and from TV shows such as ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’, but if you don’t I promise after seeing his show you will know him quite well.
Before attending his show I did not really know how funny Dilruk was going to be, or even if he was going to be funny at all. He was voted off of ‘Im a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’ first, which meant I had my doubts. But within the first fifteen minutes I knew I had met the male version of me; Tinder laughs, Netflix, and eating alone at fine dining restaurants. From references to his hardships in his 20s to his advancement into a happy single 35 year old, you will laugh till you cry, and will somewhat relate to him on a very personal level.
The ‘Victorious Lion’ will be held in the Garden of Unearthly Delights, every night until the 1st of March, 8.15pm.
