What: Marc Ryan The Beautiful Bogan in Honey; I Shrunk The Bogan
Where: Gluttony
Presented by: Marc Ryan
Genre: Comedy
This stand-up comedy was really (and I cannot stress this enough) funny.
Marc Ryan is a true ‘Strayan bogan, straight outta Elizabeth. Now if you don’t already know what or where Elizabeth is, this probably isn’t the show for you, as Marc includes many an Adelaide/South Australian reference. However that’s what makes it all the more funnier if you’re familiar with
the northern suburbs of Adelaide.
For a solid hour, your cheeks will either be hurting from laughing too hard or your brow bones will be in pain from cringing. Although Marc does touch on other non-laughable topics including racism in Australia and obesity.
Here’s a quote from the show, just as a taste of what you’re in for. “Gawler people are a bit up themselves for the northern suburbs…they think they’re the better northern suburb because they think they’re the ‘gateway to the Barossa’…nah f**k off, you’re just too poor to actually live in the Barossa.” – Radelaide comedy gold.
Expect high levels of energy throughout the show, and original, quick witted entertainment, which is probably suitable for those over the age of 18. This is without a doubt, the best stand-up comedy show I have seen at the Fringe. Put it on your must-see list (while you still can) for an unforgettably, unshameful corker of an evening.
