Vance Joy and Amy Shark will ignite Friday night as the two ARIA winners take to the stage at the Superloop Adelaide 500 on Friday 1 March.
As two of Australia’s hottest solo artists and multiple ARIA Award winners, Vance Joy and Amy Shark, will feature in a special one-off performance for Adelaide fans at the season-opening Supercars event.
Following the announcement of the Red Hot Chili Peppers closing the event as Sunday’s headline act, Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, David Ridgway, said he was thrilled both Vance Joy and Amy Shark would add their star power to a big Friday of action on the track.
“Both Vance Joy and Amy Shark are incredible Australian artists with a legion of fans who, no doubt, will be eager to see them live on stage at the 2019 Superloop Adelaide 500,” said Minister Ridgway.
“We are planning four days of unforgettable entertainment for fans, both on and off the track – this event is certainly not to be missed.”
Vance Joy’s latest Nation Of Two picked up the ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album in November.
He is no stranger to major events worldwide, having performed for millions of fans since his 2013 smash hit ‘Riptide’ cemented him on the global stage.
“I love playing in Adelaide, it’s always a great energy from the crowd,” said Vance Joy.
“So I’m looking forward to coming back and playing such a big event as Superloop Adelaide 500.”
Amy Shark won three ARIA awards last month including Best Pop Release and Best Female Artist.
She will take to the stage before Vance Joy, playing some of her biggest hits from the 2018 ARIA Award-winning Album of the Year, ‘Love Monster.’
“I’ve heard great things about the Superloop Adelaide 500 and can’t wait to come back to Adelaide,” Amy Shark said.
“It’s awesome to be able to do that as part of this event after I’ve had such an amazing response there with my own shows.”
With Vance Joy and Amy Shark joining the Red Hot Chili Peppers as confirmed artists for 2019’s Superloop Adelaide 500 concerts, only Saturday night’s concert performers remain unannounced.
All three concerts will feature Bands On Track artists opening before the headline acts thanks to a collaboration between Music SA and the Superloop Adelaide 500, which celebrates and supports local artists.
Event organisers preparing for another massive event which will feature Supercars on track Thursday for the first time in the race’s 20-year history.
A twilight 250km Saturday race will also mix up the event’s playbill.
The Superloop Adelaide 500 is the opening event on the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship calendar and will take place from 28 February – 3 March 2019.
