Ukulele Death Squad – The world’s most dangerous Ukulele show

By Tony Polese · On September 18, 2018

The Ukulele Death Squad are touring the world’s most dangerous Ukulele show around Australia this September and October celebrating the release of their new single ‘Not Afraid’ released today.

Australia’s most powerful uke quartet delivers a bending Flamenco and Folk fusion that harnesses the raw and staggering energy of their own ukulele rock & roll style. Already boasting sold-out debut shows throughout the Adelaide and Edinburgh Fringe, the Ukulele Death Squad will warp your perceptions of ukuleles one twanging nylon string at a time.

‘Not Afraid’ incorporates all the highlights from a Ukulele Death Squad live show boasting a wild, fast paced energy consisting of ukulele solos, a silver-tongued ukulele bass line, rich baritones and a soul inspired saxophone melody to bring it all together.

The notorious most dangerous Ukulele show around set the Ukulele Death Squad on fire as they shot to unparalleled cult status within the international fringe markets, with ‘Not Afraid’ they deliver their very first power hitting and raucous studio recorded original.

Benjamin Roberts (Lead Ukulele) said he was thrilled to finally release the first song the band wrote together as the debut single.

“Not Afraid, is the first song we wrote together as a band, It encompasses all aspects of the group, the energy, the ferociousness, and musicality of what we can deliver. Its a much loved banger at live shows, and was a no brainer when coming to choosing our debut single.”

From from the ashes of Adelaide’s Coconut Kids (Julian Ferguson  – Baritone Ukulele) and famed folk festival favourites, The Timbers (Benjamin Roberts  – Lead Ukulele), the two compiled an arsenal of Ukulele aficionados in Eamonn Burke (Bass Ukulele) and Reuben Legge (Saxaphone), and took to the stage to glorious applause, dancing and celebration.

With stage-craft, mad thumping rhythms and outrageous solos, the Ukulele Death Squad will quite literally blow your minds.
