This Way North Review

By Tony Polese · On May 16, 2017

This Way North is an alternate pop duo from Melbourne featuring Leisha Jungawalla on guitar and Cat Leahy on drums.

They opened with a punchy number at The Wheatshef which got toes tapping and heads rocking. Leisha’s vocals were strong, and together with Cat, they were powerful. The two had a good energy between them.

The songs were easy to listen to and had great rhythm like ‘Pretty Much’, ‘Head above Water’, and their new release ‘Pressure’, which was filmed in Toronto. Cat’s drumming was awesome and she performed solos without any difficulty.

Leisha tells the pair gave up their full time jobs to pursue their music, in which ‘Make It Work’ was written about. It looks like they definitely did.

It was a cool performance from the talented individuals who will surely continue to entertain crowds across the country for years to come.
