STORMZY
23-year-old Stormzy, aka Michael Omari emerged onto the grime scene in 2013, appearing on his record-breaking YouTube freestyles series WickedSkengMan. Omari’s debut EP Dreamers Disease was released the following year, trading in straight up raps for a broad range of musical styles that showcased his artistic and open mindset.
Dreamers Disease furthered Stormzy’s climb to worldwide acclaim, when he received Best Male Act & Best Grime Act at the UK MOBO Awards and Best International Artist at the BET Awards.
The London-born artist continues to push the boundaries of grime, and is currently nominated for British Breakthrough at this year’s BRIT Awards. His hugely anticipated debut LP, Gang Signs & Prayers has achieved roaring success. Alongside topping the UK charts, all 16 tracks featured on the Spotify Top 50 in just 72 hours after its release. Having collaborated with the likes of Wiley, Little Simz, Ed Sheeran, Kehlani, Big Narstie and more – there’s no limit to Stormzy’s breadth of talent.
Ahead of performing at UK festivals Glastonbury, Wild Life and TRNSMT Stormzy makes his highly anticipated visit to Australian shores in July. Don’t miss the chance to see London’s most prestigious grime star on his long awaited return to Australia.
