Sunday October 18th 2020
Presented by Umbrella Festival and City of Adelaide
Sunny weather is upon us, and in line with Umbrella Festival’s GO LIVE campaign, a series of gigs entitled ‘Parks and Rockreation’ will hit the open spaced parklands of the city this Spring/Summer. FREE outdoor parkland gigs, once a month for three months.
“Recreational exercise optional, but encouraged”
2020 has been a year like no other, with a pandemic driving the live performance sector off a cliff, we need new and innovative performance spaces to get artists on stages, audiences feeling safe, out of their houses and enjoying some live music. The music community have always been the first to help when disaster hits, including the recent bushfires. And now the music community is hurting in a big way.
“This is your chance to show your support”
With a list of venues having been unable to operate live music during a large portion of the year, each event bar will be hosted by a different live music venue. In collaboration, we’ll be providing boutique staging, picnic rugs and a program of strong local artists in open-air safe spaces and leafy surrounds.
No comps, no battles, no catch, just top-class South Aussie bands in your favourite city parkland locations.
***LETS BE COVIDSAFE***
