The wonderful and beautiful Jack River played in Adelaide on the 14th of June at The Gov to a glorious crowd of prom-dressed people.
Opening the show was the bundle of fun and energetic Eves Karydas with an impressive set of pipes!
Jack River came for her Sugar Mountain Ball tour, with her and her band’s late 80’s and early 90’s vibe and aesthetics, dressed in white jackets and pants like a high school prom band!
Jack River is one of the most impressive performers I’ve ever seen, with her down-to-earth nature, she sings with power and melancholy in her voice. As she tells us how her songs are based on the passing of her sister, the audience feels the emotion in her built up and expressed outward through her songs.
Belting out some of her most famous crowd favourite songs as Fool’s Gold, Fault Line and So High with everyone singing along, a surprise new favourite was her cover of Savage Garden’s Truly Madly Deeply that she originally did for Triple J’s Like A Version.
Everything that Jack River does is pure beauty and a reflection of her own soul of who she is as an artist, as she writes her own songs songs them with such talent.I will always go see her when she comes whenever I can!
