MATT CORBY TO PERFORM
AT WOMADELAIDE ON MONDAY
WOMADelaide today announced that multi-platinum Australian artist Matt Corby will perform at the festival on the Foundation Stage on Monday 9 March in Botanic Park.
With two ARIA Song of the Year awards, a #1 debut album, APRA Awards and a career spanning a decade, Corby consistently pushes musical boundaries and has embraced a journey of self-discovery.
Corby’s second full-length release, Rainbow Valley, brims with a new-found vitality and joy, a fresh energy that has seen Corby discover new musical ground and has established the Australian singer-songwriter as one of the countries most valued live performers.
The album won the coveted Triple J Album of the Year at the 2019 J Awards and Corby’s 2019-20 Rainbow Valley world tour continues with recent shows in NZ and some 100+ brilliant shows across Europe, the USA and Australia.
WOMADelaide Director Ian Scobie said that he was delighted that Matt Corby was available to headline the final night of the festival, after the unexpected withdrawal of Ziggy Marley.
“Matt is the perfect fit to complete the Monday night lineup and we believe that he will bring something unexpected and astonishing to our closing night.
“Our gratitude goes out to Matt, his band and his management for working with the WOMADelaide team to bring him into what is already a wonderful lineup at such short notice, ” he said.
