AN INTIMATE EVENING
WITH
MARINA PRIOR
The darling of Australia’s Musical Theatre, soprano Marina Prior will be performing LEADING LADY at The Regal Theatre at 8pm on Saturday 6th February and a 2:30pm matinee on Sunday 7th February. Marina will be accompanied by renowned pianist David Cameron together with a stirring string ensemble.
Marina’s most memorable role would undoubtedly be Christine Daae, in the original Australian production of The Phantom of the Opera, which she performed for three years.
Her other roles include Jellylorum in the Australian premiere of Cats, Cosette in the Australian premiere of Les Misérables, Hope Harcourt in Anything Goes, Maria in West Side Story, Lily in The Secret Garden, Magnolia in Showboat, the title role of The Merry Widow, Jane Smart in The Witches Of Eastwick and Belinda Blair in the comedy Noises Off amongst many others.
LEADING LADY will take you on a journey of songs ranging from the early folk pop songs of her busking days – a collection of music from the female performers of the ’70s and ’80s including Joni Mitchell, Wendy Matthews and Kate Bush – through to her favourite theatrical songs from such shows as The Phantom of the Opera, Cats and Les Miserables.
See Marina as you have never seen her before – up, close and personal – in an intimate performance, sharing music and memories from her career.
