Live & Local: live music to aid west recovery from covid-blues
A new partnership between the City of Charles Sturt and western suburbs pubs Lady Daly Hotel, Woodville Hotel and Adelaide live music icon The Gov will support local musicians, small business and community connection as restrictions begin to ease.
Live & Local is a series of live-music performances that will be streamed live from local bars over the next three weeks. Each event will be streamed on the businesses own Facebook page.
Kicking off the series on Wed 20 May, The Gov will bring back their regulars the Adelaide Ukulele Appreciation Society from 7-8pm. They’ll also revive their open mic night Friday Free for All from Fri 22 May. Both will be held in their Front Bar.
The Woodville Hotel and The Lady Daly will host various artists across the Weekend, The Woody will showcase Blue Raine on Sat 23 May from 6.30pm and the Lady Daly will feature Ricky Albeck’s acoustic set on Sun 24 May at 2pm
The Live & Local program is being funded by the City of Charles Sturt as part of their economic support & stimulus package announced last week. It aims to provide paid work to local musicians, generate positive publicity for local venues and encourages residents to re-engage with public spaces and local businesses. The program may be extended across the City in more venues to real life crowds as businesses begin to re-open their doors.
