In the Chair

By Tony Polese · On February 6, 2022

He may not drive a Kingswood
but he is in the band Kingswood
– It’s Fergus Linacre

In the Chair is a regular feature on Eventalaide, highlighting artists from across Australia and occasionally overseas. Everyone gets the same questions. It is just meant to be a bit of fun so please treat it as such.

Questions by Geoff Jenke

Fergus Linacre is Lead Singer for the indie rock band Kingswood. The band was formed in Melbourne in 2007 along with Alex Laska (lead guitar), Jeremy “Mango” Hunter (bass) and Justin Debrincat (drums) and in 2020 released their 3rd album Juveniles with the hit Bittersweet coming from that album.

When touring ground to a halt due to a certain bug going round, the Band did not stand still. They recorded Reveries, a reimaging of the album, Juveniles, with an Americana-Bluegrass feel. On top of that they recorded a Christmas album, simply called A Kingswood Christmas, donating all profits to Beyond Blue.

Kingswood headline the Caltowie Fired Up and Chilled Out Festival on Saturday March 26th. Maybe they will do a track off the Christmas album?
