ast month the good folk behind Beer & BBQ Fest dropped the first artist announcement for the second iteration of HomeBrewed Festival, coming to the Adelaide Showground in from January 21 – 23, with a live music line-up that includes Bad Dreems, Peter Combe and Teenage Joans, and many more. Now the jam-packed food and drink line-up is revealed alongside a glut of festival activations and experiences. The 2022 HomeBrewed culinary offerings are second to none with highlights including the premiere festival offering of From Blammo sauces. The brainchild of chef Justin Penman who will be cooking using his range of delectable From Blammo hot sauces, which are full of flavour and full of heat. The Blammo team will be serving up delectable fried chicken ribs served with hot sauce to douse as light or as liberally as you’d like, and buffalo cauliflower for the vegetarians, crumbed, fried, and tossed through with From Blammo buffalo sauce. Another new addition for the festival is Cheekies Hot Chicken, who will be exclusively slinging their band new menu ahead of the launch of the new restaurant in February, It’s hard to beat the combo of a good sandwich and an icy cold beer, so with that in mind making their festival debut is Smokey’s Deli, who have been pumping out American Deli-style sandwiches in Hainz and Co. Other food offerings include Tex Mex, taqueria, Sneaky Tiki– from the folks that brought you Sneaky Pickle, and Adelaide Arcade favourites Two-Bit Villains who have been slinging vegan comfort foods for 10 years will be making a very rare appearance at a festival. |
As far as drinks go there will be beer, wine, gin, and more by iconic South Australian brands to emerging artisans including more than 10 distillers, and a wine program curated by the legends at Wine Country and some very special interstate friends. Highlights include heavy hitters Uraidla Brewery, who hold multiple top 10 placing at the recent Drink Easy Awards, Never Never Distilling and Alpha Box & Dice, emerging artisans Bizzaro Aperitivo, Kickback Brewing from Aldinga, So Fresh So Clean Wines, and friends from a little further afar like NSW’s in-demand Mountain Culture Beer and gin made with the pristine waters of Tasmania from Dasher & Fisher. The Gilbert Street Hotel will be bringing their trademark International Container featuring some of the world’s best summer brews from the likes of the USA’s Stone and Founders and New Zealand’s Epic and 8 Wired, with some beers that are practically impossible to find elsewhere. Co-Director of Beer and BBQ Festival Aaron Sandow, says he is thrilled to see how many top shelf SA Businesses got on board. “We’re stoked to present such a wide array of local homegrown talent for Homebrewed 2.” Sandow said. “Our intention has always been to push Homebrewed towards a celebration of everything local. The variety in this year’s events beverage line-up is definitely testament to this. We are proud to be a part of the food and beverage scene here in SA which is totally killing it right now. “The collabs and special one offs coming to the event is where its at for me! We have Shapeshifter and Mountain Culture brewing something special as we speak, Beernoevil and Underground Records are working on a Hazy Pale, and the legends at Mischief Brew and Bizzarro are putting together a bunch of coffee and booze inspired cocktails. This event more than ever will have something for everyone!” There are also a host of activation to do around the festival with the return of the 2021 Homebrewed smash hit RIOT CITY WRESTLING, Fizzer Falls by Moon Dog & Little Bang featuring waterslide and clubhouse bar that will be blasting the Triple J Hottest 100 on the Saturday and the GABS Hot 100 Craft Beer countdowns, so there’s a countdown for everyone! You’ll be able to take a spin on the Showground’s iconic Ferris Wheel which will sure to be uber popular on the family and dog friendly Sunday sesh, and explore the Market Bazaar featuring hot sauces by Brutus and Grunds, cool gifts from Offbeat Sock Co and Black Match Candles, tattoo’s by Semaphore Ink, fresh cuts by Good Times Barber, a sideshow alley, DJ stage starring South Aussie icon Driller plus curation by Just Like Whatever featuring sets by Footy (Clarity Records), Young Offenders and Horror My Friend, plus Ruby Chew, Jason Dunn, The Continental, Young & The Restless DJs and a very special curated Saturday night session by Very Good Party DJs. |
