Having released his third studio album on Friday November 4 (2016), Harrison Craig is set to embark on an extensive national tour of Australia in 2017 singing the Kings Of Vegas.
Harrison’s Kings Of Vegas album is homage to the most important music in Harrison’s life. From Nat King Cole to Sinatra’s Rat Pack, Elvis Presley to Tom Jones, Mel Torme to Frankie Valli the album includes new interpretations of classics such as Almost Like Being In Love, She’s A Lady and Comin’ Home.
The release sees the much loved platinum-selling performer as the creative force behind the project, following his lifelong passion to the spiritual home of some of the greatest performers ever to command a 90-piece band, Las Vegas.
“These guys created a style and turned it into a timeless genre,” Harrison says. “The way the songs were written, directed and orchestrated… Nothing was done in a small way. I came back from Vegas extremely inspired. I knew exactly what kind of record I wanted to make.”
Undeniably a swing record, the 10-track album with its rock solid emphasis on rhythm, lavished with a blend of strings and brass is a stripped back version of swing that emphases the singer’s first-hand intimate experience of Old Vegas in all its 4am glory. An intoxicating cocktail of swing, glamour, cool and the thrill of anything goes!
Harrison Craig launched his career as the winner and Voice of Australia in 2013. Over the past three years, Harrison has set records on the ARIA charts with his debut album ‘More Than A Dream’ achieving platinum status, whilst his second album ‘L.O.V.E’ remained in the top 10 charts for six consecutive weeks.
His unique tone and crooning style sets him apart in his genre and come 2017, fans will be excited to see Harrison bring these songs to life on stage for his Kings of Vegas: Lounge Sessions tour which will reach both capital cities and regional towns.
The two-hour concert will showcase songs from the Kings Of Vegas album performing the hits from the likes of Mel Torme, Nat King Cole, Bobby Darin, Frankie Valli, Elvis Presley, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr, Tom Jones, Dean Martin, Bing Crosby, Barry Manilow and The Righteous Brothers, among many more. Add the hits of the new Kings of Vegas – Elton John, Billy Joel, Rod Stewart and Michael Bublé – plus a string of Harrison’s own hits from his first two records and you’ve got a show that you definitely don’t want to miss.
“I’m counting the moments down until I can be back out there with my Harrinators! Here we go. Vegas Baby!
