The promo for this show says “featuring Cleopatra Higgins, a UK and US top 5 artist, who has also starred in London’s West End in hit show ‘Thriller Live’. Cleopatra delivers these timeless songs with raw energy and pure soul. High octane versions of all the hits including R.E.S.P.E.C.T, Think, Natural Woman and more.”
All I can really say about it is ‘BRILLIANT’. Definitely the best show I have seen so far this year. There is a little bit of video footage throughout the show giving some of the history of this great singer – and the video was just enough, not overdone.
Cleopatra has an amazing voice and does Aretha superbly well. She was well supported by great musicians and three backing vocals, who all have respectable backgrounds – one who has supported the likes of Amy Winehouse and The Carpenters! We were certainly treated to the best of Aretha Franklin classics as well as a few covers, such as Simon and Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water.
I definitely rate this as a “must see” show! Once this show has run its course, Cleopatra is doing a Tina Turner tribute show – I, for one, cannot wait to see that!
