Umbrella Opening Street Party relocated to Lion Arts Centre tomorrow night
When it rains, it pours!
We’ve moved our opening night party to keep you safe and dry
Due to weather, we have had to relocate our opening night event, but we’re still kicking off our festival with our best party yet!.
This year, Umbrella: Winter City Sounds is bigger and better than ever, and to celebrate, this Friday night, we are now taking the party off the streets and relocating to Lion Arts Factory to keep you safe, dry and warm.
There will still be warm food and cold drinks, Archie Roach will still be performing and we’ll still be dancing to Ollie English, Corey Theatre, Alana Jagt, Nathan May and DJ Jessi Jacoby. We’ll just be doing it inside – and of course we’ve still got you covered with plenty of umbrellas!
So bring the kids, tell your friends, and come and enjoy the opening night of Umbrella: Winter City Sounds!
From 5pm at Lion Arts Centre, a stellar collection of local bands and DJs will be showcased on stage, while you warm yourself with great food and beverage.
In a shared celebration with NAIDOC Week, Jack Buckskin will perform a Kaurna Ceremony to open the evening before entertainment by roving performers, activities for the whole family and a performance by special guest Archie Roach.
Come and dance to the music of Ollie English, Corey Theatre, Alana Jagt, Nathan May and DJ Jessi Jacoby.
With toasty fires in the courtyard and roving performers, Umbrella will be kicking off in fine fashion thanks to Music SA, Adelaide Fringe, Government of South Australia, City of Adelaide, Young Henrys, Guitars In Bars, Novatech and Nexstage.
The Umbrella: Winter City Sounds Opening Street Party is free for the whole family so come and jump in puddles with us and kick off the 17 day festival in style.
Afterwards, keep the party going with the Umbrella Opening Night After Party at Casablabla where you can dance the night away to some of Adelaide’s best DJs.
