The Garden of Unearthly Delights opening night will feature massive headline performances and a spectacular fireworks display
Australia’s biggest culture playground – The Garden of Unearthly Delights – will officially open to the public on Thursday, February 16 with a huge line-up of free performances from 6:30pm, followed by a magical display of fireworks.
Headline acts on the night include the cabaret spectacular Blanc de Blanc, Indigenous dance sensations Djuki Mala, ‘Beautyshop’ quartet The Kinsey Sicks, the improvised full-band musical Baby Wants Candy, electric-acoustic and US performer Sxip Shirey, and viral comedian Ivan Aristegieta. And to keep you in the party mood Vaudeville Smash will perform live in the Garden. Make sure you wear your dancing shoes as these guys seriously pack a dance floor!
Michelle Buxton, Co-Owner of The Garden said the evening will provide a sneaky and delicious taste of all The Garden has to offer throughout February and March:
“We all love the Opening Night Party. It’s Adelaide’s chance to discover The Garden for the first time this year and to enjoy sneak peeks at some of our hottest new shows. There is so much incredible talent coming to The Garden this year and a lot of it will be on show on Thursday night. Bring your family and friends for a gorgeous evening of food, free entertainment and fireworks and help us celebrate the opening of our 15th Garden of Unearthly Delights.”
The evening’s free entertainment will also emceed by comedian and radio presenter Tom Ballard, who is excited to be returning to The Garden for the fourth time:
“There’s nothing I enjoy more than doing dumb comedy, circus tents, grass, shady trees and gozleme, so for me being in the GOUD is a dream come true. I’m honoured to be hosting the opening night proceedings in The Garden and introducing people with actual talent to the stage, where I will secretly sabotage them as I consider them all competition for ticket sales. Happy Fringe, everyone!’
