Documentary
This is a really interesting documentary which covers so-ooo many things associated with the British – everything from their ability to do self-deprecating humour, pomp, gin & tonic, a cuppa tea, sausages.
We also cover off the elitist side with Cambridge University, including the infamous rowing race between Oxford and Cambridge, castles, acting – with many comments from Sir Ian McKellen (Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings series). We get to see snippets of the beautiful home of Lady Carnarvon, whose grandfather found fame by discovering the tomb of Tutankhamun
Filmmaker Frank Mannion (Sparkling: The Story of Champagne BFF21) delves into historic castles and figures, classical theatre, aristocrats and of course iconic music. We see him getting exquisite tailor-made suits, shows and a hat – the latter being made by the hattery which inspired the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland.
If you want to get good, broad insight into what Brits think makes them British then take a look at this delightful docu-movie.
