Set to perform at Splendour in the Grass and a national tour this August, today Dope Lemon aka Angus Stone releases his second studio album Smooth Big Cat via BMG Australia. To celebrate the release, Dope Lemon shares the unforgettable video for Give Me Honey. Over the next week, Dope Lemon will make a series of in-store appearances and album signings in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Byron Bay. Fans can also score a lemon head for life, as Angus shouts free tattoos in Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and Perth today.
New track, Give Me Honey is a peachy ride glowing with groove and swagger. Watch drag queen Callum Lawson steal the dreamy spotlight in the visual accompaniment, captured by Award-Winning Director and Cinematographer Stefan JoséHERE.
Featuring first single Hey You, and album track Salt & Pepper,Smooth Big Cat was recorded over three months at Belafonte, the studio on his ranch. Angus played every instrument on the record, produced and mixed every song. The new LP is Dope Lemon squeezed to pure juice, distilled to a nectar fit for the gods, sweet on everyone’s lips. A record for wild hearted escapades and fuzzy, melty moments laying back on the rug. Album and tour bundles are now available at www.dopelemon.com.
It’s been two years since Hounds Tooth, the last Dope Lemon EP, and a full three since Honey Bones, Angus’ instant-classic debut, which amassed over 100 million streams. The release saw Dope Lemon become not just a melting curio of artistic experimentation, but a fully-fledged cultural phenomenon.
Dope Lemon will prowl onto the public stage with the mystical creature of leisure this August at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, Tivoli in Brisbane, Palais Theatre in Melbourne, HQ in Adelaide and Metropolis in Perth. Dope Lemon will be joined by special guest Golf Alpha Bravo, the solo project of Gabby Winterfield, lead singer and songwriter from Jagwar Ma. Following the Australian performances, Dope Lemon will embark on a 16-date UK and European tour.
