Bishop Briggs, the UK alt artist whose track “River” amassed over 28 million global streams and soared to #3 on the Alternative chart in the U.S, will release her self-titled debut EP on April 14th (Teleport / Island Records). The 6 track EP will feature alt anthem “River” and “Wild Horses” which has been added to high rotation on triple j. The track “River” reached #2 on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 charts and #1 on the Hype Machine Popular charts. Watch Wild Horses HERE
Last week Bishop Briggs was confirmed for Splendour in the Grass in July (21st to 23rd). In the U.S and Canada Briggs will be headlining her own tour including performances at Coachella in April (see full tour dates below).
Bishop Briggs’ music now transcends the limitations of singular genres blending folk, pop and electronic music into a wholly unique sound. Her voice, lived-in and unafraid, has been likened to artists as varied as Janis Joplin, Florence Welch, Aretha Franklin and Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes) but Bishop foregoes restraint and defies categorization, forging a path that is uniquely hers.
With an upcoming EP release, recent live performances/opening slots for Coldplay, Passion Pit andKaleo and a headlining North American tour, Bishop Briggs is poised to be one of 2017’s biggest breakout artists.
