BIRDS OF TOKYO ANNOUNCE EXTRA TOUR DATES
AS SINGLE ‘GOOD LORD’ GOES GOLD
Fresh from a performance at the AFL’s Anzac Day match last week, which saw no less than 6 of their tracks re-enter the charts, Birds of Tokyo announce new dates for their September Good Lord Tour, with an additional show at The Gov on Thursday 12 September.
In other good news for the band, ‘Good Lord’ will be certified Gold on next week’s ARIA Singles Chart. The breakup anthem is already one of the most played songs on Australian radio, proving that there’s still some space on the commercial airwaves for electric guitars and real drums. The track is also climbing the streaming charts having been ensconced in Spotify’s Viral Top 10 for the last few weeks.
It’s been more than a decade since Birds of Tokyo formed in Perth and released their first few indie albums. Over the years since then, they’ve enjoyed 16 APRA Award nominations – more than any other band in history – and 11 of their songs have made the triple j Hottest 100.
The Good Lord Tour is proudly presented by Channel [V] and fans are strongly advised to only buy tickets from official outlets and to avoid ticket reselling websites which can sometimes lead to rip offs.
