NZ electro-pop artist, Lontalius (Eddie Johnston) has shared his brand new single Swim, a beat laden track with intricate guitar lines topped with Eddie’s floaty vocal about the ups and downs of life (out now), Stream: SWIM. The video to Swim is filmed in a self-reflective perspective, looking into a floating mirror with Lontalius singing back to himself, the stunning Wellington landscapes the perfect contract to the emotion in his music, Watch: SWIM.
On October 4, Lontalius will be dropping his sophomore album titled All I Have, a superb collection of 8 songs from this impressive artist. With a sound reminiscent of pop legends 1975 and Troye Sivan, Lontalius’ voice is characteristically melancholy, with beautiful temperament, paired with wistful synthesisers and soft, gentle guitar. Drawing upon musical influences from his youth (U2 and REM) and pairing those sounds with artists from today (Lorde and Kasey Musgraves), Lontalius sings about love, youth, anxiety and that general feeling of ‘coming of age’, trying to make sense of life as a young adult, Stream (for review only, do not share): ALL I HAVE.
Lontalius will be playing his first ever Australian shows this year supporting Japanese Wallpaper on his national Glow tour, dates below:
