The Stag Adelaide Re-Opening

By Lukas Bubenas · On October 21, 2015

VIP Launch Party
The Stag Hotel, Adelaide
October 21, 2015

After the closure of the Stag hotel in April 2015, new ownership has come in since and a $2.5 million renovation was done for this iconic hotel, located in the east end of the Adelaide CBD.

It was with great excitement we made our way over to the launch to see in person what changes have been made.

Upon entering the venue and doing a quick tour of both levels, I will steal a line from Apple and say that ‘The only thing that’s changed is everything’. Rather than describing all the changes here, I rather you see the changes in person and be amazed.

As one of the new unique aspects of The Stag it features a brand new Restaurant called Vardon and a Champagne bar upstairs, which has a fantastic feel and design to it. A perfect spot to toast a special celebration over a glass of French Champagne and some Coffin Bay oysters.

We found the staff to be very professional and super friendly, they looked very smart in their staff attire. The drinks menu is high quality, and bar snacks are also available if you prefer to eat in the bar area.

Throughout the night we were able to indulge in some of the amazing nibbles provided by chefs including head chef Camillo Crugnale. He has also designed the pub menu to match the contemporary copper and monochrome look of The Stag. A few dishes that he is famous for over his 35 years are vitello tonnato, crab pasta, and zucchini blossoms. Crugnale is regarded as on of Adelaide’s best Italian chefs.

The all new and revamped Stag Hotel is open every day till late. Make sure to check it out and try their breakfast menu while enjoying it on balcony bar overlooking Rundle St. We hope for you to leave amazed.
