Sushi Planet Modbury Review

By Tony Polese · On September 24, 2017

I’m diving straight to the point… at Sushi Planet Modbury the food quality food is superb. If you enjoy Asian food this is a place to visit.

The decor is elegant and this restaurant caters for everyone. There are family areas, intimate dining and larger seating areas. It’s fun and energetic, yet has the feel of a high-end Japanese dining bar. A place where you can bring the kids, make noise and drink wine and cocktails.

Sushi Planet is excellent value for money. With such an extensive menu on offer, it’s a place that will reveal new pleasures with every visit. The menu is well planned, any hard work of choosing combinations has already been done. Starter platters, sashimi, nigiri and tempura dishes. Meat and vegetable skewers, small rolls, big rolls, quinoa rolls, inside-out rolls, topped rolls accompany a wonderful range of set menus and desserts. Gluten and Vegan options are of course available.

The quality of the seafood, the rice texture and playful menu combinations amounted to some of best sushi I have ever eaten.

The skills of the chefs are obvious, their ideas are fresh and a clever use of different textures, flavours and temperatures.

The mixed sashimi is on another level… the scallops being a personal favourite. On my next visit, I’ll be trying the Aburi sushi set and the cacao and goji brownies.

Make sure you book for weekend dining. It’s very popular, as it should be.
