SCOSA – Flavours of the World Fundraising Dinner
Words by Kathryn Robertson
At Eventalaide we love to support a good cause, and this was no exception! Eventalaide attended the SCOSA – Flavours of the World Fundraisng Dinner last Wednesday night, at the hugely popular Cos Restaurant in Leigh Street.
SCOSA (The Spastic Centres of South Australia) was founded in 1950 and provides vital services and support to hundreds of South Australians living with a range of physical and intellectual disabilities.
The night was a well ran and enjoyable affair that flowed smoothly thanks to John Tobin (Business Development & Marketing Manager at SCOSA), who was master of ceremonies for the night. He did an excellent job of presenting the night and entertaining the guests.
Patrons enjoyed an amazing 3 course meal, I particularly loved the entrée of grilled prawns, which was amazingly fresh and cooked to perfection. Accompanying fine wines were supplied by the beautiful Totino Estate located at Paracombe in the Adelaide Hills.
In between courses we heard from the Seeley International Executive Chairman and founder, Frank Seeley, who gave an awe inspiring and informative speech about his life and what it took to start up the company. To close out what was a memorable night, an auction was held, the main prize being a Crows game Corporate Box at Adelaide Oval. This alone raised an impressive $5,000. There were also raffles held throughout the night, which proved very popular.
I had a truly enjoyable time on the night, and can see why SCOSA’s fundraising events are so highly praised and quick to sell out. Be sure to check out their next major event, the 2017 Battle of the Brains Quiz night on Friday 19th May. So get out there and support a good cause.
