A clear and cool evening was the perfect backdrop for a special little get together at this cute Magill Rd boutique. Only a few weeks from Christmas was also perfect timing for all the divine luxuries that are housed within The Ruby Oracle to be on offer, along with French champagne to lubricate the steady flow of conversation amongst the style-savvy clientele.

After being greeted warmly at the door, we entered the main room to be welcomed in gorgeous French style by the vivacious owner and proprietor, Dianna. As she enthusiastically chatted about her passion for her collections and for France, our eyes danced over the vast display of fine jewellery, glittering in their cabinets under thoughtfully positioned lighting. Art deco inspired earrings from Au Bout Des Reves and La Vie Parisienne begged closer inspection, as did the nature-inspired Lotta Djossou range of bracelets, rings and delicate earrings. A long row of pretty little Paris Necklace Dolls danced in the slight breeze, and we could not resist having a closer look at these colourful and unique pieces.

Around the corner in the next room we found a display of elegant scarves, classic Jacques Esterel handbags, unique Italian made Pasotti umbrellas with the most beautiful ornamental handles, exquisite candles, delicate scented Gardenia and Rose room fresheners from Cote Noire, iridescent Ashleigh and Wood fragrance diffusers, distinctively packaged soaps by Punch Studio, divinely package chocolates by Marie Bouvero, and tastefully decorative storage/gift/hat boxes in all sizes and shapes… to name but a few!

Following the light, relaxed traffic up the small flight of stairs, we discovered yet another room where the decadent red walls were used to hang a variety of ‘very French’ art and canvases. We also discovered the source of the delicious aromas that had earlier floated down the stairs to meet us, when we encountered the elegant array of French pastries and yet more champagne seemingly as reward for all our Oohing and Aahhhing.

Upon chatting further to Dianna over a glass of lovely bubbles, we learned that everything in her store is available online and they will happily arrange delivery Australia wide and overseas. So, if you are still searching for that perfect, unique Christmas gift, look no further than the one-of-a-kind The Ruby Oracle.

With warmest thanks to Dianna for putting on such a fabulous evening, and to Adelaide’s own Girl About Town for the invitation.
