Fresh, colourful, healthy – Pohkay has been open since November serving up these beautiful bowls just near the Adelaide Museum, on the opposite side of north terrace. There are so many options from suggested bowls to build your own from scratch – something even the fussiest eaters will appreciate. Building from scratch has you choose your protein, then edamame beans, carrot and other basics are topped with the extras, sauces and shaker spices of your choice. The servings are substantial and well-priced – Tony enjoyed his salmon and I had a vegan build it yourself – they currently serve delicious marinated mushrooms, and there are tofu and other veggie options coming to keep the plant based eaters happy. I also love that they are serving in compostable bowls (just skip the lid!). The staff are super friendly and helpful with suggestions for your final dish flourishes.
There’s a small area to eat in, but this is food you want to enjoy in the sunshine. With so many nice places to eat near the shop, Pohkay will be a summer favourite for the office folks and uni kids.
