Tomorrow, Saturday 13th April, Henley Beach welcomes a fresh taste to its shores as the highly anticipated Mia Margarita opens its doors to the public. The two-story Mexican-inspired bar and restaurant boasts an extensive menu, a creative cocktail list and is set to bring a new element to Henley Beach’s bustling restaurant scene.
Featuring six different margarita offerings and delicious modern Mexican dishes, Mia Margarita is the go-to place for those searching for a new hub to eat, drink and party, without venturing to the city or committing to clubbing.
Mia Margarita is the love-child of three veterans of Adelaide’s hospitality scene, including Zac Makins, the brains behind Adelaide’s iconic 50SIXONE restaurants.
“After visiting Mexico last year, I fell in love with the country and wanted to bring an element of it back home to Adelaide,” says Zac Makins.
“With its beautiful beaches, dynamic food culture and up-and-coming nightlife, Henley Beach seemed like the perfect place to play host to a little slice of Mexico. Mia Margarita is about delivering the best in food, drinks and atmosphere that Adelaide has to offer.”
The space seats up to 90 people across two storeys. Downstairs, Mia Margarita is a buzzing taco and tequila bar serving up tapas, quesadillas and big plates, while the upper level features booths for group bookings and an exclusive VIP area.
“Upon entering Mia Margarita, you’re greeted with a staircase and bright neon lighting – it’s like walking through the streets of Mexico City. It’s the perfect setting to enjoy a drink, dinner and a dance,” Zac Makins says.
Embracing its beachside setting and Mexican roots, Mia Margarita’s menu offers a vibrant fusion of share plates including Cali Fried Chicken Tacos with avocado salsa and chipotle mayo, and Whole Crumbed Barramundi topped with citrus and guajillo chilli mayo, mango salsa and tortilla pieces.
A must-try is the Trash Can Nachos, where diners lift up a can to unveil a sumptuous stack of pulled pork, avocado salsa, sour cream and an irresistible blend of three melted cheeses.
The modern Mexican menu is complemented by an impressive drinks list that features passionfruit palomas, sangria by the litre and frozen margaritas.
Located at 330 Seaview Road, Henley Beach, Mia Margarita will open to the public on Saturday 13th April, 11am – 11pm, seven days a week. Reservations can now be made here.
