Jamaica Blue Winter Menu Review

By Eventalaide · On June 4, 2018

JAMAICA BLUE (Myer Centre Rundle Mall)- Winter Menu

Words by Geoff Jenke

Looking for some where to eat or to just have a coffee with friends or colleagues to battle the winter blues? Jamaica Blue might just be the place for you. Located on the Promenade level of the Myer Centre Rundle Mall, the café has fresh wholesome and mouth-wateringly delicious food for everyone.

While the menus are set by “head office”, the food is made on the premises and prepared using locally sourced and seasonal produce, something they are proud of. Jamaica Blue opens at 7.30am Monday to Friday and 8am Saturday (Sunday 10am) so head on down for breakfast before work or for a lazy Saturday morning feed.

The Turkish Poached Eggs hit the spot for me, accompanied by Spiced Apple & Red current Oatmeal Bowl which was just delightfully decadent with dark chocolate flakes throughout. My dining partner tried the Egg and Bacon Bagel accompanied by a Roasted Pumpkin & Chickpea Dukkah Bowl. While it tasted savoury, it was still a great breakfast item.

While we were sampling the new winter items on the menu, Jamaica Blue still retains the breakfast favourites like Avocado Smash & Maple Bacon, Big Breakfast and many other choices. There are also many choices on the menu for a full lunch or just a sandwich or roll.

Jamaica Blue also has a cabinet packed with divine looking desserts, designed to seduce your taste buds, that you can enjoy with your meal or have with a cup of coffee. They also have a variety of slices available to eat in or take away.

There is a good children’s menu (for the Little Pirates). The Cheesy Fingers looked a treat but I don’t qualify as a child.

It doesn’t matter if you are looking for a leisurely long lunch with friends, a romantic interlude with your partner, or just in need of a quick coffee and a bite to eat, Jamaica Blue is the place for you. They have ready to go options for those in a hurry as well as a’ la carte menu. They even have their own free magazine for you to read if you happen to be on your own.

Get out of the cold and wet weather and head to the warmth of Jamaica Blue in the Mall where all meals are made with a generous serving of TLC.

You won’t be disappointed.
