World-renowned soiree Diner En Blanc is back in Adelaide this year after taking a year off and we were lucky enough to attend a sneak preview event to see what they have in store for us.
Known for its mystery, exclusivity and notorious dress code of all white, Diner En Blanc has allured thousands of people in countless locations across the globe for over thirty years.
Being hosted this year by KN Events, the dreamy evening, taking place on November 30th will keep to its traditions. The setting will reflect a French fairytale, the location will not be announced until the last minute, and there may be a few surprises throughout the night.
The preview event itself was an absolute delight. In an intimate setting at the Rotunda of Elder Park, guests were treated to a mouth-watering spread of cheeses and fruits that would put any restaurant to shame, and delicious wine to pair.
While the French champagne is always a fabulous touch, it was refreshing to see some South Australian wines on offer as well. Sidewood Estate is well known and loved in Adelaide for its own homage to French tradition, using a saber to open a champagne bottle, and will be featuring this technique at Diner En Blanc. While it’s a practice that should probably be left to the pros… patrons may get the chance to take a saber to their own champagne bottle – if they dare.
While the ticketing can be tricky, as is with any exclusive event, this year’s edition of Diner En Blanc is promising to be a night for the ages, and we can’t wait to see it.
