Condesa Bar & Restaurant Brings New Life to Adelaide’s Westside Dining Scene
Located inside Hotel Royal on Henley Beach Road, Condesa Bar and Restaurant is a vibrant Mexican eatery offering a lively new addition to Adelaide’s westside dining scene.
Inspired by the streets of Mexico City, the venue offers a new take on traditional Mexican food, with Head Chef Ashley Nyguen at the helm. Ashley has been creating award-winning Mexican dishes for over a decade, taking out best Mexican in South Australia when he ran Viva Zapata in Semaphore and at Mexican Society in Chinatown.
“My moto has always been ‘food is everything,’ and I am an example that no matter your background, through passion and dedication you can excel in any cuisine,” says Ashley Nyguen.
“I always take every opportunity to develop my culinary skills and knowledge of Mexican cuisine and Condesa will be no exception.”
Ashley’s perfectly curated menu features many delicious choices including Hibiscus Kingfish Ceviche, Chorizo and Beef Cheek Quesadilla, Softshell Crab Tacos and a range of traditional Mexican desserts for those with a sweet tooth.
“Our menu is made for sharing but even if you’re flying solo, we have an extensive list of tequilas and mezcals to keep you company… Our fiesta banquet is the perfect choice for those looking for an exciting way to experience a range of dishes from the menu,” says Ashley Nyguen.
La Condesa in Mexico City is a beautiful bohemian district with tree lined streets, stunning art deco buildings, arty boutiques and lively restaurants and cafes. Condesa Bar and Restaurant is a vibrant replica of this location, which is best reflected by its colourful mural created by local artist James Smith of The Walking Creative. James’ art piece sits at the heart of the venue and truly encapsulates the soul of the beloved Mexican streets with its pop art and bright style.
Condesa Bar and Restaurant is the newest addition to local family-owned hospitality group, The Hurley Hotel Group, who currently operate ten hotels in South Australia, employing more than 600 staff both regionally in Port Lincoln and Mannum and across the greater Adelaide metropolitan area.
