Review by Kirsty Burns
Burgers of most types are a hit in my book, so when the opportunity to review the new Cheeseburger Adelaide Diner in the West End arose -it was a sure hands up.
Situated on Hindley Street, the shop is open just before lunch until 9.30pm Monday to Friday… being a family business the weekends are kept for themselves… a choice at this stage that possibly differs from most of their burger loving fan’s.
It’s only a small shopfront but the bright yellow and black design is attention grabbing. The space provides both inside and outside areas to eat. I’m not sure a burger place could pick a more fabulous location – this being right across from the Uni of SA.
For a winter’s Tuesday night the place was consistently busy… but not enough to keep you waiting very long for your burger… and this is a menu that may surprise you with only 3 burgers to choose from.
Traditional, Classic or Double Burger and that’s because it’s all about the cheese choices on offer and “Mums” special sauce and patty recipe. An easy pick for me… I’ll never go past anything with Blue Cheese and the chips were really nice too.
My only criticism would be that the single burgers could be a little bigger.. however maybe that’s when one should choose the Double patty option. Price was certainly reasonable compared to fast food chain burgers.
I love this simple concept of a fresh, tasty and non greasy burger and they also offer a vegetarian and gluten free option which ticks another box on our checklist when eating together as a family.
Nice. Clean. Quick.
