The mastermind behind Adelaide’s sell out Catalina Wine Mixer trilogy, Winter Wonderland & One Night in Bocca Lupo, is launching a brand new festival set to awaken the senses.
Adelaide will transform this October 29th to celebrate one of Mexico’s oldest traditions, Dia de los Muertos – DAY OF THE DEAD.
Prepare to be transported to an intoxicating world of live music and art, fashion, food and a whole lot of debauchery tucked away in a secret CBD car park.
“We’ve gone all out to make sure no detail was spared in bringing guests the most authentic Day of the Dead experience,” says Entertainment Adelaide Director, Daniel Koronis.
The oversized space will be packed with a three metre LED cross, a 14-metre-long bar and giant LED letters for the perfect photo opportunity.
Graves and shrines will feature throughout to pay tribute to the festival’s traditional history.
“We want guests to walk in and feel like they’ve been transported to Mexico. There will be fire breathers, Brazilian dancers and Day of the Dead stilt walkers,” says Daniel Koronis.
Three Adelaide clothing labels will put on a show-stopping fashion parade alongside live vocalist, Sarah Lloyde.
“There will be something for every, from fashion and music, to horror and history,” says Daniel Koronis.
Guest can get into the spirit with free face painting offered by a group of talented makeup artists, while La Cantina Co. will be cooking up a storm to feed hungry souls.
Early Bird tickets start at $55 which includes a patron drink + taco + entry to this event. Those wanting the VIP experience can get their hands on eight special entry tickets for $1500, which include your own platform viewing stage, a deluxe food and drinks package and a personal waiter.
