23rd Street Distillery – official launch

By Kathryn Roberston · On October 4, 2016

23rd Street Distillery launch – Pop Up Bar done right!!

I love a Friday night drink after work, so I happily headed to Rundle Mall the other Friday 23rd September for The official launch of the 23rd Street Distillery.

Australia’s Bickford’s Group has just opened a $6.6m premium distillery in SA’s Riverland; and to help celebrate this, they held a shindig which took place in the heart of Rundle Mall under the canopy in Gawler Place.

The night drew a crowd of Adelaide’s media, bloggers and high profile corporate identities, who came to celebrate and see what all the fuss was about.

The weather was fantastic! And the perfect set up, with a cool bar serving a selection of premium drinks and Bickford’s mixers to match with. Catering was superb. Everyone devoured the canapes on offer. Such as tender beef sticks with shaved parmesan, seasoned prawns, citrus oysters, and some tasty cheeseburger sliders. Dessert featured a delicious chocolate mousse number, which was my clear fave.

I loved the addition of all the fairy lights above, and the cool music in the background being played by high profile local DJ Jake Phillips aka Dancespace of Electric Circus fame. There was even a live body-painting art installation on display, presented by Mandy of Mandy Nash Makeup.

More than 30,000 visitors are expected to visit the distillery each year; creating jobs and with plans to source local ingredients from local producers where possible this really is a great success story for our state.
