Carnevale 40th Anniversary

Carnevale 40th Anniversary
The Adelaide Showgrounds
February 6-7, 2016

Carnevale Italian Festival is set to soar for its 40th Anniversary with a wonderful array of artists to entertain. Headliner is Adelaide’s own David De Vito, back by popular demand. David creates his own special magic with hit parade numbers, opera arias and traditional Italian songs on the Main Stage in Piazza Jubilee.

Also on the bill is Tony Pantano from Melbourne, performing with Sydneysider Ross Maio – not only on the Main Stage but also on the Al Fresco Stage in Hamilton Boulevard. This performing space will present bands, singing and dancing groups and the newly created Zeppole Eating Competition which promises to be hilarious fun.

The Carnevale footprint of this special year is now more compact and patrons will find it easier to navigate. Grab some authentic Italian food and move into the inside Eating Court to watch artists or stay outside, sit on the grass to graze, take in a show and enjoy the fresh air.

To celebrate the 40th anniversary, the Italian Festival, one of the first major multicultural festivals of its type in Australia, celebrates true Australian togetherness with groups such as Macedonian Dancers, Burundian Drummers Club – African Dancers, Southern Cross Tango, Danca Brazil Entertainment and Kalalaya – Indian Dancers. All will appear on the Saturday, nominated as Multicultural Saturday.

On the Traditional Sunday, so beloved of Italian families and friends to get together, there are favourites such as La Taccarata, Italcanti, La Famiglia d’Aspromonte and Mira Sangregorio with funny man from Melbourne, MC James Liotta. Annaleese Fuda, a recent contestant on The Voice, makes her Carnevale debut.

For the kids Star Academy returns and Peter Salerno brings his fun magic family show. Carnevale is thrilled to be presenting for the first time, the legendary Humphrey B. Bear!
