The legendary Great Moscow Circus was back in town (first came to Australia in 1965), and we made out way to the Wigley Reserve at Glenelg to see the brand new extreme version.
The show opens with a great musical number featuring all the performers. After this, we go into the first of many entertaining and extreme circus acts. We are introduced to perfomers taking on the globe of death and acrobats tossing each other around. There are way too many acts to list here but we promise you will be capitated for each of them. Cast members are joyful throughout the show and bring a lot of energy to the audience. The children in the audiences will absolutely love the ponies were perform in the show. And your little one may even become part of the show.
I did like the extreme feel of the show and the musical score that had a darker tone to match the extreme acts being performed in front of our eyes.
The negatives I found was that there needed to be more heating in the big top. It was a very cold night and was still cold under the big top. So do rug up if attending this season. I also found the audience participation took over the show too much. Basically one audience member became an unofficial performer with the quantity of time he was part of the show.
The Great Moscow Circus as a whole never seems to disappoint and even with this edgier more extreme feel, its still a show that the entire family will love.
The Great Moscow Circus continues its run in South Australia over the following dates:
PORT ADELAIDE
