The six finalists for Burnside Village’s creative initiative, The Fashion Illustrative, have been announced.
With entries recently closing 25th February 2016, the competition saw over 150 applicants submit a fashion illustration, either hand or digitally drawn, using a brand or retailer at Burnside Village as their inspiration.
“We were absolutely overwhelmed with the number and quality of applications that came through. It was an extremely tough decision to select only six finalists, but we are very proud of who has been chosen,” says Founder of Burnside Village – Pat Cohen, who joined four other expert panelists to select the six finalists.
A combination of design students, fashion illustrators and creative customers took inspiration from popular retailers such as Camilla, Carla Zampatti, sass & bide, Zara and Mimco.
“The talent illustrated in the entrants designs was of upmost quality, making our job very difficult to narrow it down,” says Ms. Cohen.
The six finalists, Brighde Taylor of Fairview Park, Rene Veno of Mt Gambier, Chantel Basso of Northfield, Christy Kretschmer of Largs Bay, Daniella Caruso of Kingswood, and Madeline Little of Millswood, will have their submissions printed and displayed in the Fashion Mall from the 10th of March until the 24th of March, with both winners to be announced on the 25th March.
The winning entry will win a $1,000 Burnside Village Gift Card, as well as having their design printed on a limited edition Burnside Village Gift Card.
“We are also encouraging Burnside Village customers to vote for their favourite design, who will win the ‘People’s Choice Award,’ receiving a $500 Burnside Village Gift Voucher, as well as a lucky customer who voted also receiving a $500 Burnside Village Gift Voucher,” says Ms. Cohen.
