Night fever night fever… Australians know how to do it!
Get time warped back to the 1970’s, chuck on those flares grease back the hair with some Brylcreem and relive the smash hit Travolta movie now in a stage production playing Adelaide. We all know the story of young Brooklyn native Tony Manero and his dream of just being somebody…He works his days in the local hardware store for peanuts, comes home and is constantly reminded he is the black sheep of the family and his life is headed nowhere fast.
Bring on Saturday night and the local nightclub 2001 Odyssey….this is the one time Tony feels alive he is “King of the Dance floor….” Follow the journey, as Tony stops being a dreamer and gets out and lives his dreams, follow him as he enters the local dance contest and strives for glory. Along the way he will find love, sexual / racial tension and real life problems of the working class in 1970’s New York.
The story is timeless and most of us have seen the movie a million times. Now we get to live it on stage, starring Sebastian Cooper and Amber Plattern and a killer cast of local performers you will be taken to all those unforgettable movie scenes, to Fosco’s hardware’, Manero family meals….the dance studio and off course 2001 Odyssey night club. Don’t just relive a memory now’s the chance to breath and hear it first live, with those killer Bee Gee tracks and prompt set changes you’ll be singing the night away thinking Disco is king and the 1970’s is the present! For a great night out see Saturday Night Fever now, its been 30years in the making!
