The family friendly event is the City of Unley’s major Fringe event, taking the place of the hugely successful Double Shot Coffee Fiesta, which will return later this year.
Unley Mayor Lachlan Clyne said the Council had brought in Adelaide event gurus The Pop-Up Co, to create an event celebrating wellness and lifestyle which showcases what the City of Unley has to offer in this space.
“It’s the ultimate community day, whether you want to take the kids to yoga in the morning, grab a healthy lunch, or kick back with some live music in the afternoon. Adelaide’s biggest health and fitness names will be there, including Unley businesses F45 Unley, Nutrition Republic and Goodpress Juices.” said Mayor Clyne.
For those looking to unwind from a busy week, Toop and Toop will host a relaxing Garden Space, alongside the Zen Garden, offering massages, skin refreshers and silent mediation.
There’s also a chance to get creative, with children and adults encouraged to try their hand at craft sessions, as well as wellness talks and mediation, held by naturopaths including Kasey Willson.
City of Unley Event Management Specialist Carly Hemus said they have worked with major sponsor lululemon to find the best fitness teachers in Adelaide to run a range of fun interactive classes and demonstrations, which are all free.
“Local fitness experts will get the blood pumping, with a “Show Me” space that gives festival goers the opportunity to try Aerial Yoga by the Yoga Centre, Pilates and HIIT, Barre and more.
“Patrons can not only nourish their soul, but also their taste buds with a healthy food and drink hub, tailored to suit a variety of appetites,” said Carly Hemus.
The Meraki Festival will be held from 8am-4pm on Sunday 26 February at the Unley Soldiers Memorial Garden. Visit unley.sa.gov.au orfacebook.com/cityofunleyevents for all the details.
