Isabel (Michelle Williams) manages an orphanage in India, which is in desperate need of funding. She is asked to fly to New York to meet a benefactor who is prepared to provide what they need. When she decides to send a colleague, she is told that it has to be her.
When she arrives in New York she is put up in an exclusive hotel which, she confides to her colleague in the orphanage, costs enough to provide about 300 beds! She is ushered to a meeting with the benefactor, Theresa (Julianne Moore) – a self-made and wealthy entrepreneur. Itching to get back to her orphanage, Isabel is frustrated when she is asked to stay the weekend and attend the wedding of Grace (Abby Quinn) – the daughter of Theresa and Oscar (Billy Crudup).
When she arrives a little late for the wedding ceremony, she is stunned to see a “blast from the past”. This turns the whole scenario into turmoil with the potential to adversely affect the much-needed funding for the orphanage.
Great performances by the cast and a couple of interesting twists make this a movie well worth seeing! The movie starts in cinemas today (Thursday 24th October).
