April is here which means three things: school holidays, Easter and an absolutely epic month of films and fun at Event Cinemas! With this month’s most anticipated films coming to the big screen, along with some great Easter promotions and the very best entertainment for the kids over the school holidays – there’s something for everybody this April at Event Cinemas.

Wednesday 3 April – Khalid Free Spirit: Multi-platinum award winning global superstar Khalid celebrates the upcoming release of his highly anticipated sophomore album Free Spirit with a special companion short film by the same name, screening as a one-night only event followed by an exclusive early listen of the album.
April Seniors Morning Tea Screenings: Join Event Cinemas in April for three special seniors screenings with complimentary morning tea before the film. First film on 3 April is Dumbo, followed by the advance screening of Chaperone on 17 April and Afterman on 24 April.
Thursday 4 April – Shazam!: We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s case, by shouting out one word – SHAZAM! – this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult superhero Shazam.
Thursday 4 April – Pet Sematary: Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows a family, who, after relocating from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near their new home. Tragedy strikes setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences. Starring Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz and John Lithgow. Plus, see it first at our Fright Night screening on Wednesday 3 April.
Thursday 4 April – Wonder Park: Upcoming animated adventure film Wonder Park tells the story of a magnificent amusement park where the imagination of a wildly creative girl named June comes alive. Featuring the voices of Jennifer Garner, Kenan Thompson, Mila Kunis, John Oliver, Ken Jeong and many more!
Monday 8 April – Wrestlemania: On the grandest stage of them all, watch WWE Superstars become legends who will live forever in the minds of the WWE Universe. Don’t miss out and catch all the favourites compete at WrestleMania on the big screen at Event Cinemas.
Thursday 11 April – Hellboy: Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge. Stars Milla Jovovich, David Harbour and Ian McShane.
Thursday 11 April – Guess How Much I Love You: Join the delightful meadow friends this Easter for an adventure of a lifetime with Guess How Much I Love You – An Enchanting Easter. This selection of timeless children specials is the perfect way to treat the little ones this Easter with their first cinema experience.
Thursday 11 April – Little: Featuring Regina Hall, Issa Rae and Marsai Martin this upcoming fantasy comedy follows a woman who is transformed into her younger self at a point in her life when the pressures of adulthood become too much to bear.
Wednesday 17 April – Chicks at the Flicks – Join Event Cinemas for the April instalment of Chicks at the Flicks, with the Advance Screening of Australian romantic comedy Top End Wedding. Every ticket receives a bonus gift bag on the night so come and enjoy a well-deserved night out with the girl gang and book tickets today.
Thursday 18 April – Monty Python’s The Life of Brian – 40th Anniversary: Returning to cinemas for its 40th Anniversary, in glorious standard definition and mono-sound, Monty Python delivers a scathing, anarchic satire of both religion and Hollywood’s depiction of all things biblical with their 1979 feature film Life of Brian.
Friday 19 – 22 April – Easter: Over the Easter long weekend Event Cinemas has an extra treat for cinema goers with an exciting Easter Egg Hunt happening in the first sessions of select films: The Lego Movie 2, Dumbo, and Wonder Park. All tickets purchased over the weekend will also come with delicious Darrell Lea Nougat Milk Chocolate Easter Bite.
Wednesday 24 April – Avengers: Endgame: In the aftermath of Thanos wiping out half of all life in the universe, the Avengers must do what’s necessary to undo the Mad Titan’s deed. Watch the final film of the Marvel superhero franchise on the impressive state-of-the-art 20m digital screens in Vmax or add a little extra class to your adventure experience and upgrade your tickets to Gold Class!
