Her Bride His Groom website launches : A big thumbs up to Marriage Equality

By Tony Polese · On July 27, 2016

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I received an invite to the launch of the Her Bride his Groom website launch; I was curious to say the least!

Her Bride His Groom is the brain child of Sam Meathrel. Which is, an online service directory for same sex couples, looking to plan their wedding day. I must say, I think it is a brilliant idea.

From the minute I entered the grand entrance of the magnificent Freemasons Hall, (where the launch was taking place) you couldn’t help but be in awe of this space. It was the perfect back drop for this stylish and elegant event.

On arrival we were greeted by two male models, looking oh so dapper in crisp tuxedos. They were friendly and informative, and led us straight to the impressive media wall and bar; I was having fun already!

The sophisticated crowd including a mix of Adelaide’s social elite and media, drank fine wine and champagne, and nibbled on scrumptious tapas by Cindy’s Classic Gourmet. Setting the mood with the perfect selection of tunes, was local personality and DJ Filip (with an F) Odzak, whose turntables were positioned high above the crowd, creating an awe inspiring site.

The launch and speeches were brief and included a quick interview by the Sunday Mail’s Matt Gilbertson; Sam gave a quick overview of his vision for the website, and the reasons for starting Her Bride His Groom. This was preceded with the cutting of a stunning 5 tier wedding cake by Heidelberg Cakes to signify the official launch.

The whole experience from start to finish was splendid; and kudos to Girl About Town for supporting and showcasing a service for Marriage equality. I’d like to see more of this please. I walked away with a massive smile on my face.
