Burnside Village is excited to announce the winner of their creative initiative, THE FASHION ILLUSTRATIVE.
Christy Kretschmer from Largs Bay has taken top prize for her innovative Camilla inspired watercolour illustration. The 40-year-old has a degree in visual arts and enjoys being creative with fashion design.
Christy Kretschmer says, “I’m absolutely overwhelmed to be announced as the judge’s winner of THE FASHION ILLUSTRATIVE. All the finalist’s designs were of an extremely high standard and were completely different to one another. This is a huge honour.
“My design captured the imagination of the romantic byzantine era with the cathedral-like backdrop to compliment the lady in her Camilla splendour… It was a no brainer to use Camilla for my design’s inspiration as it has a classic feel that reflects Burnside Village perfectly,” says Christy Kretschmer.
From 150 applicants narrowed down to only six finalists, Christy’s design was a standout to the judges due to her creative and artistic flair.
Fashion Designer and one of the judges, Petar Prodanovic, says, “It was definitely a hard decision to make given all the finalists’ submissions were outstanding… The judging panel was stuck between two designs, but decided that Christy’s illustration best reflected Burnside Village.“
Christy will be awarded a $1,000 Burnside Village Gift Card, as well as having her design printed on a limited edition Burnside Village Gift Card.
